Dr. Chen graduated from Taipei Medical College (TMC), now Taipei Medical University (TMU), in 1981; He studied at and obtained a MPH Degree from the University of Texas (UT) Health Sciences Center at Houston in 1984; He completed Internship and Residency Training in Internal Medicine at Cook County Hospital (now renamed John Stroger Jr Hospital), Chicago, IL, from 1984-1987, and Sub-Specialty Fellowship Training in Medical Oncology and Hematology at the University of Illinois School of Medicine at Chicago (UIC) from 1987-1990.
He returned to Taiwan in 1991, and practiced at VGH-Taichung, Koo Foundation Sun Yat-Sen Cancer Center, VGH-Taipei, and then, at National Taiwan University Hospital (NTUH) in Taipei as Clinical Investigator at the NTUH-Taiwan NIH Cancer Research Ward from 1996-1998.
Dr. Chen holds a Clinical Faculty position at University of Washington (UW) at Seattle, School of Medicine, Department of Medicine, Division of Medical Oncology since December 1, 2010, specialize in GENERAL MEDICAL ONCOLOGY and NON-MALIGNANT HEMATOLOGY. He has written and published more than 15 peer-reviewed journal articles and text-book chapters in the fields of Medical Oncology and Hematology from 1989 through 2017.
