Promoting the Sustainable Development Governance Framework
In order to effectively advance the company's ESG sustainable development direction and corporate social responsibility, as well as actively respond to the risk assessments and countermeasures from stakeholders, to achieve sustainable business goals, a proposal to establish the Sustainability Development Committee's organizational rules have been submitted to the Board of Directors in 2024. The proposal was approved in March and the Sustainability Development Committee was officially established in July, elevating the corporate sustainability development goals to the board level. The committee has set up a Sustainability and Stakeholder Office responsible for promoting and executing sustainability-related projects.
Sustainability and Stakeholder Office, Functional Teams
The Sustainability and Stakeholder Office is responsible for coordinating and identifying significant sustainability issues related to the company’s operations and stakeholders’ concerns. It develops short, medium, and long-term sustainability development plans and work guidelines, allocates sustainability-related budgets, and plans and implements annual projects. The office also tracks the execution effectiveness to ensure that sustainability strategies are fully implemented in the company’s daily operations. The General Manager serves as the office convener, and an Executive Secretary is appointed to oversee coordination.
The Sustainability Office oversees four functional Teams: the Environmental Sustainability Group (E), Employee Care Group (S), Corporate Governance Group (G), and Product Ethics and Safety Group (P). Each subcommittee is led by the highest-ranking officer of the relevant department, who is responsible for executing the corresponding ESG tasks. They are also supposed to submit management guidelines and relevant information on major issues annually for use in the sustainability report and external disclosures.
